Make your business feel like a real brand
· 3 min read
In short
Customers trust businesses that feel organised. Pack every order well, add your own sticker and a thank-you card, let customers order from a proper store, send order updates, and reward people who buy again. None of this needs a big budget.
Why does it matter?
Your customers cannot walk into your shop. They judge you by your page, your replies and the parcel that arrives at their door. Small details make a small business look serious. Serious businesses get more trust from new buyers and more repeat orders.
1. Use proper courier bags
Used boxes and shopping bags look cheap, and they can tear on the way. Use sealed courier bags (also called poly mailers). They are waterproof, show if someone opened them, and look clean. Local suppliers such as Lanka Polypacks sell them in many sizes.
Keep two or three bag sizes, so every item fits well and does not move around.
2. Protect items with bubble wrap
A damaged item means a return, a refund or an unhappy customer. Wrap anything that can break or bend in bubble wrap before it goes into the bag. Fold clothes neatly and put them in a clear plastic sleeve.
3. Add your own sticker
A logo sticker on the bag turns a plain parcel into your parcel. A roll of round stickers from a local printer is cheap and lasts for months.
4. Put a card inside every order
Add a small card with your logo, a short thank-you and how to order again, such as your store link or WhatsApp number. A handwritten “Thank you, Nimali!” takes ten seconds, and customers remember it.
5. Let customers order from a store, not your DMs
Asking “price?” in DMs and waiting for a reply feels slow. A store with photos, prices, sizes and a checkout feels like a real brand. Customers can also order at midnight without waiting for you.
6. Give order numbers and send updates
Give every order a number. Send a short message when the order is confirmed, sent and delivered. Customers stop asking “Where is my order?”, and they trust you more.
7. Reward customers who buy again
Repeat customers are your easiest sales. Keep a list of your customers and what they bought. When a new collection arrives, send them a small discount code.
8. Reply like a brand
Reply politely and quickly, and use the same friendly tone every time. Keep your page bio, prices and photos up to date. Doing the same things the same way, every time, is what makes a brand.
